Desert of Thar

The Thar Desert is one of the most beautiful places  in the Sindh province of Pakistan.  It is not only a great place to watch birds but an area that is full of historical events. There are historical buildings belonging to Jain, Islam and the Hindu religions. It is a great place to visit in the winter and also in the seasons of autumn and spring. After the monsoon rains, the desert becomes even greener full of flowers. Temporary marshes appear here. It is surprising how green the desert is.

It is one of the few places in Pakistan where wild Peacocks occur in good numbers. Thar desert is  the only place to see the huge numbers of Wild Ass or Asiatic Onager. In the Thar desert, there is no big city like Punjab or southern Sindh. The main town in the Thar desert is Mithi which is so away from the main city Hyderabad. And after 6 hours journey from Karachi you can reach there.
