When we just got our fridge years ago – something rare during those days, I tried every kind of cold dessert – jelly, mousse, souffle, ice candy, ice cream and blancmange.
Blancmange is nothing but milk and cornflour. Ready to mix packets with different flavours were available which I am sure they still are.
You just need to cook the powder in enough milk and sugar and pour it in a mold. When cooled gently remove it and place it on a plate.
I have not had it in a while as I am not sure if blancmange powder is available these days.

We have a similar dessert. Before serving, pour it over hot forest fruits.
This is something that one can scoop out.
