A first of its kind in the world, a tiger at the Bronx Zoo, NY City has tested positive and six others are exhibiting signs.
It was hitherto not known that animals could also be victims of COVID-19. It is suspected that it could have got the virus from the zookeeper who could have been asymptomatic.
This tiger, named Nadia came from Malaysia

Are you afraid for your pets?
I hope Nadia recovers. Such a majestic animal. I have heard of other animals contacting the virus and the news even stated to not kiss your dogs last week. Sad that this evil virus can be passed on to our pets.
In a way I am glad our cat pets do not let us touch them.
I don’t have a pet for now. I’ll buy canaries again when the pandemic is over.
I never knew till now that animals could get this disease.
I guess we need to practice social distancing with our pets now.
I really do not know what to say. That will be too harsh an action.
