Contrast bring life and energy to a frame. I love the contrast the craggy rocks in the picture provide to the beautiful blue sky and the fluffy white clouds. I found this picture as I was looking through my archives and decided that this is what I want to post for the Sky Sunday challenge.
Contrast is often described as the visual ratio of different tones in an image. It helps bring out textures, highlights, shadows and colors vividly.
The deep tones in the background highlights the colors and the liveliness of the clouds in this picture. This picture was taken years ago on one of my trips.

For virily I always edit my photos because they are larger than 8 MB. Contrast is very important to get a beautiful picture. I don’t like bright tones to stand out.
Yes indeed, if they stand out too much they look garish. However, the same pictures look different on my phone and my laptop.
I do edit my picture – especially for the brightness , contrast, and playing with the curves a bit.
I do that too. Sometimes when there isn’t enough light I need to do more adjustments.
i crop pictures for various sites but I don’t edit them. It is a personal issue I have, you’ve done really well here!
I understand, some people do not like editing their pictures. However, sometimes playing with brightness and contrast brings out the best in pictures. I have also learned another trick straightening the picture also changes the angle a bit and gives it a better look for some shots.
there is much that can be done. I don’t edit my father’s or my grandfather’s pictures. I do edit some of mine from time to time!
I agree with not editing pictures of others. It is a way of respecting their work.
thanks. for me it is as much emotional as anything. I have a strange idea that the slides were last touched by my father, then either me or the kids to be scanned. so there is a connection to him.
I know it isn’t real. but I can’t help it.
I treasure my mothers work too, she was excellent at knitting and embroidery. I have preserved her work and won’t let anyone use them.
