So far we have the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in the College football playoff, but a few teams have tasks at hand this weekend. Here are four must watch games that will shape the College football playoff.
SEC Championship: Alabama Crimson Tide vs Georgia Bulldogs
Why watch: Which ever team wins between the two stays in the College football playoff, and the loser leaves! In my opinion this matchup could go either way, but according to matchup predictor, the Alabama Crimson Tide are 63% favored to win.
Big 12 Championship: Oklahoma Sooners vs Texas Longhorns
Why watch: Both of these two teams faced off back in October, with the Texas Longhorns defeating the Oklahoma Sooners, 48-45. This time, the Oklahoma Sooners are in a must win situation because the loser of the Alabama Crimson Tide vs Georgia Bulldogs game gets knocked out of the College football playoff, then it leaves the Oklahoma Sooners to move in. Going into this matchup, the Oklahoma Sooners are 72% favored to win according to matchup predictor. However, I honestly believe that it could go either way if you look at past matchups, as well as who both teams have faced.
Big Ten Championship: Ohio State Buckeyes vs Northwestern Wildcats
Why watch: The Ohio State Buckeyes are in an argument with the Oklahoma Sooners on who will be in the College football playoff. Currently, the Oklahoma Sooners are ranked 5, and the Ohio State Buckeyes are ranked 6. In this case the Oklahoma Sooners would have to lose against the Texas Longhorns in order for the Ohio State Buckeyes to move in. The Ohio State Buckeyes in my opinion will be looking to defeat the Northwestern Wildcats in a dominant fashion in order to make a point to the playoff committee. Going into this matchup, they are 84% favored, per matchup predictor.
ACC Championship: Clemson Tigers vs Pittsburgh Panthers
Why watch: The Clemson Tigers are the 95% favorites in this matchup according to matchup predictor, and will be looking to solidify their spot into the College football playoff.
