It is nice to know that the city governments here are trying to protect the big trees particularly the old trees that age more than a century. There is a law against cutting down big trees and you need a permit before you can do it. I think the penalty is high but not a jail term.
In the rural areas, however, the cutting of trees is a regular activity. They sell the small logs for furniture wood and the twigs and small branches serve as their firewood that can also be sold. So how do those rural folks would take the law of prohibition? That may even affect their culture.
