Pain killers kill the pain but do not cure
I am a senior and as is the case with any senior I too have those aches and pains. I use fomentation and gels but do not take pain killers.
I had a toothache and when it comes to toothache we have no other alternative but to take pain killers and antibiotics if recommended by the Dentist
My Dentist recommended Hifenac SR which is normally recommended for ailments associated with joint pain and stuff. Strangely I did not suffer from aches and I attributed it to this tablet.
I know it is a temporary measure and I need to go for therapies that cure

Do you take pain killers?

No

I’m trying to take as little painkillers.
I too avoid pain killers as far as possible
I hardly use drugs. I prefer something on a herbal basis for temporary relief. For us adults, movement is important.
I rely a lot on homoeopathy
Not even paracetamol (pain killers).
Occasional intake will do no harm but some are habitual pain killer addicts.
Probably. I do get pains and aches in my entire body. However, with busyness–such as gardening, housework, casual employed work 4x a week, walks, strenuous exercises keep my mind off my pains.
As you rightly said, distraction is the key
I’m taking painkillers for the past 45 years Nothing happens to me
There are exceptions to every rule and you are that exception. I am happy for you.
It is a miracle then!
When a claim is made we have to respect it
