Another cactus in bloom

Another one of my mammillarias is in bloom right now. This pastel shade of pink is one of my favourite colors. The thorns on this mammillaria are really tough, but if you know how to handle the cacti you will known that they wont really hurt you. I never wear gloves while tending to these , the thorns are bent at an angle and I can handle them without problems.

However, weeds love to grow in cacti soil. All my cacti are surrounded by weeds, I do need long pincers to pull out the weeds and keep the globular heads of the mammillarias clean. This specific sub-type often produces a number of blooms at the same time, I am hoping all the fertilization I have done is on time and that I will have a super bloom this season.

  1. It is amazing that cacti with their thorns can produce such delicate and gorgeous flowers. I do not have the green thumb at all but I really enjoy looking at your flowers and plants of all kinds. Keep them coming….
