Alcohol can kill the virus

This has been floating on my mind for a time that if alcohol can really kill the virus then why don’t we focus on the alcohol? If your hands are always clean because of alcohol then you will not spread the virus that your hand had caught in a public place. One example is the railing in the stairs that you hold on. With alcohol the virus is dead on your hands.

But scientists say that the spread of the virus is more in the hospital than in public places. So why are the authorities focusing on the public places? They should focus on the hospitals and clinics where covid patients are staying.
