I live in Alabama, born and raised. I did not know a few of these.
Mardi Gras originated in Mobile in 1703. Many think it started in New Orleans but it was Mobile.

Thank you for sharing these facts about Alabama. My relatives and myself would take Interstate 10 from Louisiana to go to Pensacola Florida to enjoy vacation time at the beach. The only time that my relatives stayed in Alabama was in a camp site near Mobile.
