We found a bunch of ripe chokecherries when we got lower down and closer to the river. Those we picked. In the next few days, I hope to make some chokecherry jelly. There are a bunch more out there that aren’t quite ripe, too, so we’ll be able to pick more.
As I recall those are quite tart, ergo the name.
What an odd name, I hope there is not a backstory that goes with it.
