No just warm enough where you wont get hypothermia. Our water temp averages around 57 degrees or 14 C. Way to cold for me, although in August the water temps reach a whopping 68 degrees F and 20 C. And the beach air temp reaches 80 on some days. (26C). My favorite temp is around 80.

A thing I have never thought of before, for I have never had a cold temperature on the beach and the seawater. Thanks for the explanation, Kim
