I have not seen this bird often. I saw one in Bethels Beach West Auckland and this was in Waioru petrol station.
Its not a sparrow looks alike but isn’t.

Yes it does but the Sparrow is rounder and more fluffier than the Pipit which is taller and leaner
It looks very much like a sparrow
