The steam is rising up from Old Faithful in this picture, just to the right of center. Although Old Faithful is technically not in Montana, this is a good picture to show the snowy conditions in Yellowstone National Park, before the storm even cuts loose.
Wow this is a great shot of the steam.
When it gets really cold, the steam becomes a dense plume.
