Among the difficulties they face on a daily basis, the main one is the lack of oxygen. The average daily temperature tends to be -50 degrees Celsius. During the night it even goes to -80 degrees Celsius. As they go nine months without differentiating day by night, except of the temperature difference, their biorhythm is completely changed. The air is fresher and cooler than any other place on Earth, therefore it has no smell. They face smell shock whenever they come back to the “normal conditioned place on Earth”.
