When referring to collecting badges, non-collectors usually reminisce of something they may have seen with their grandparents. Often they are covered with red cloth made of styrofoam or cork that are embroidered with different badges from different areas, periods and states.
I had a lot of gramophone records. They are now at my parents’ home in Bulgaria
A beautiful hobby, it must be a worthy collection
And badges, too. I remember some enormous badges from Russia…. 😀

They were real pieces of work. 😀
My grandfather used to have something like this. Wonder what happened to it…
It would be nice to save them, nice memories
