Dam and Falls at Glens Falls, New York

So there actually is a Falls in Glens Falls, New York and we are visiting it in the summer, although I am sure it is beautiful and frozen in the Winter there in Upstate NY.  The water is the Hudson River which flows from the Adirondacks down through Glens Falls to the Atlantic Ocean via New York City.  A dam was built here to control the flow of water and feeder canals in 1913 and lasted 100 years until it was rebuilt in 2013.  How it is a hydroelectric dam. To the right side you can see the new feeder canal that supplies water to the Finch Pruyn Company Paper Mill and downstream.  The old feeder canal is beyond the fence to the far right.
