Canoeists along Lake Superior Shoreline (2007-07-16 19-41-08b)
The photo was taken on the Lake Superior coast just to the west of Ontonagon, Michigan (Upper Peninsula / Ontonagon Co). My wife and I, along with a friend of the family, rented a cabin – it was actually a house but they called it a cabin – on the shore of Lake Superior, just west of the town of Ontonagon.
One night around sunset I was down by the lake and took this photo of two people in a canoe. Although I got a lot of nice photographs on that trip, this one is one of my favorites. I like how the out of focus foliage frames the canoeists.
I used a Panasonic DMC-FZ50 camera to take the photo which I then edited using Luminar 2018. I used the Develop filter to lower the exposure and highlights a bit and raise the contrast, shadows, blacks and clarity. I then added the Tone filter and raised the SmartTone. Next I raised the vibrance and lastly added the Accent-AI, Details Rnhancer and Denoise filters.

Nice place and great job!
Thank you, Georgi. Except for not being quite as warm as I would have liked, it was pretty nice.
Wow what a perfect shot. It is framed just right. Good job Gary. A beautiful setting.
Thanks, Carol. It is one of those right place at the right time photos.
You got that right, it is perfect!
