By checking an I.P. address one can unravel the scam sites from the real ones.
Many sites will use an American I.P. but the company is not located in America.
They buy a site from godaddy or another such vendor so they can pretend to be American.
For example, this site is in Estonia.
Now, you think you are dealing with an American company bound by American laws. You are not. You are dealing with a site on the other side of the world.
You have to do your checks.
Trust nothing on the Internet.
