The German Bundesliga is back after its winter break and started its return with a great match between Schalke 04 and Borussia Monchengladbach in Gelsenkirchen. Both teams were on the attack in the first half, but both goalkeepers stepped up to keep the score at nil-nil at halftime.
However, Schalke’s counter-attacking style began to take over early in the second half when Suat Serdar scored in the 48th minute with a curler into the lower right-hand corner of the net. The scoring play was off of an assist off of a counter-attack from the left side.
The second goal came off of a counter-attack after Schalke regained possession on defense. After three quick passes, Michael Gregoritsch was able to score in the 58th minute. Schalke remains in the top five with this win, while this loss puts Monchengladbach in second place for the time being.
i need to get back to watching Soccer. I love the game!
I started watching games when they started showing them on Fox Soccer Channel back around 15 years ago because the games come on before all of the other games on the weekend.
when I traveled to Europe I watched them all weekend log. I stopped when I stopped traveling.
It will be the first time in a zillion years that Bayern does not win the league.
It’s possible because Red Bull Leipzig is very young as most of their players are under 30. Plus, Red Bull pays their players well because Naby Keita is the only one that was sold to another team in about 3 years. They continue to accumulate young talent, which keeps all of the talent away from Bayern.
Great goals. Yet, I do not like German Bundesliga, Bayern Munchen always wins
Have you looked at the standings? Red Bull Leipzig is in first place. However, the Bundesliga is sort of a level below the English Premier League and La Liga.

They still might win it – it depends on if they grab some more players before the end of the month. If they don’t, then Red Bull or Borussia Dortmund will win it.
