My NBA Draft 2017 Review: Memphis Grizzlies

35. Ivan Rabb – PF – California.  6’11”, 220 lbs.  (14 ppg, 10.5 rpg).

45. Dillon Brooks – SF – Oregon.  6’7″, 225 lbs.  (16.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.7 apg, .401 3pt).

The Grizzlies took two players who were projected to go in the first round of the draft, but dropped on Draft Day due to a few circumstances.  Rabb is a terrific post player, but needs to add some strength to his frame in order to deal with the physical nature in the NBA.  Plus, he will need to expand his range on the offensive side of the ball.  Nevertheless, Rabb is a ferocious rebounder with a tremendous work ethic.

Brooks dropped due to an early-season injury and due to one of the worst flops ever seen on a basketball court.

However, he is capable to score in many different ways from the small forward or the power forward position. Basically, Memphis obtained a couple of steals in the second round.

Grade:  B+.
