French Team Heroes

How times have changed. Why, just a few hundred years ago Brits everywhere would have agreed with Horatio Nelson, and the French team wouldn’t have been given a look-in, but now because of decades of peace, we can admire the French fighting-spirit. If you have to keep ducking French bullets and cannon, you may well be like Nelson but it’s a tribute to peace that the world-cup winners can be admired from anear and afar. If you had been in Russia, watching the final, the only thing you might have had to duck was a football. That’s a great change from past centuries!

Long live peace and down with pesky war!
