The Minnesota Timberwolves went through an absolute debacle last season. The T-Wolves went from being a playoff contender to a rebuilding project within a few months. With a new coach and a new vision, Minnesota looks to proceed into the new decade with renewed optimism. Hopefully, this NBA Draft could be start of something positive. Let’s take a look at who the Minnesota Timberwolves selected in this NBA Draft.
#6 Jarrett Culver – SG – Texas Tech. 6’7″, 194 lbs. (18.5 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 3.7 apg)

Culver went from being a bench player as a freshman to leading the Red Raiders to the NCAA Championship Game. Minnesota definitely needs someone with leadership skills because the team has been going rudderless for quite some time. He is a scorer/slasher that looks to dictate the tempo of the game. His defense is also stellar. Although he is a shooting guard, he will have to improve his shot in order to fulfill his immense potential. Nevertheless, his versatility allows for him to play at the point guard, the shooting guard, or the small forward position if the coach chooses to be creative with his lineups.
#43 Jaylen Nowell – SG – Washington. 6’5″, 186 lbs. (16.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 3.1 apg, 44.0% 3-pt%)
Nowell will add a needed three-point option off of the bench for the Timberwolves. However, he may not see much playing time because he would be behind Culver and Josh Okogie on the depth chart. Nevertheless, his shooting percentage was so good last season in college that he forces the coach to give him minutes.
Grade: Both picks are excellent by the Timberwolves. I give them an A-.
nice to have something to look forward to
Actually, The T-Wolves are surprising NBA fans so far with Karl-Anthony Towns (KAT).
pleasant surprise for fans, not so pleasant for the opposing teams
Enjoy the games my friend.
Thank you, Carol. I will enjoy the games because the NBA season is one week away.
