While Hurricane Irene lost some of its power, it is still a dangerous storm with the centre of the hurricane is expected to reach New York City top on Sunday August 28th causing widespread damage and flooding with sustained winds of 85 mph as it begins to move up the Atlantic Seaboard. Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore’s heroic act saving a NBC News reporter

I have to tip my hat to the Weather Channel hurricane reporter Jim Cantore who has said in television ads on television that ever since his childhood, he had this dream of covering weather stories which came true when he was employed to his current job.

Now you can add the title of savior when National Broadcasting Company (NBC) News reporter Kerry Sanders was in the Panama City Florida region when they were reporting the news of the strong winds from Hurricane Michael that has brought pain and suffering not to mention destruction of the Florida panhandle.

I will give both Cantore and Kerry my respect for covering a strong hurricane like Michael since not only do they have to stand at a safe place like a hotel building to avoid getting either knocked down by the strong winds or worse getting hit by flying objects that come from the strong winds from any storm.

Kerry was being dragged by the strong winds from Hurricane Michael when Jim Cantore who was reporting the coverage of Hurricane Michael managed to leave his post to assist Kerry to a post nearby to safety until the winds would slow down once again to continue coverage of Hurricane Michael.

Cantore being the veteran that covers hurricanes and snow storms as part of his duty with the Weather Channel continued to report the news of the Cat 4 storm when it landed in Mexico Beach Florida this past week.

Kerry decided to step away from coverage of Hurricane Michael at that time since it was too dangerous to report at that time since he was lucky and thankful that Jim Cantore saved him from getting injured by being taken away by the strength of the winds from Hurricane Michael.

I do not know how much money Jim Cantore gets paid to report from the front lines of hurricanes and snow storms. He does earn every dollar he gets from his employer for doing a job that very few of us would dream of doing.

  1. You are correct since we all want to be loved or get rich since the dangers of the job is one reason only a brave person works in a dangerous job like covering hurricanes/
