Willows are very common trees around the world. Some hybrid species are sometimes called ‘weeping willows’. The long branches make it easily identifiable. “Long and narrow with fine-toothed edges. Each green leaf is attached to a drooping twig, though it appears to be joined to its neighbor. The leaves turn yellow in the fall and some can grow up to eight inches long.”
I enjoy watching the weeping willow when it is windy outside because it looks like the branches are dancing in the wind.
Did you know that they can extract salicylic acid to make aspirin from willow trees?
Very interesting post, I didn’t know that either!
I did not know about the aspirin. My neighbor has two of these and they are huge.
I love the tree because it is beautiful, it is also suitable to be diminished as a bonsai.
Thanks a lot! It was cloudy outside that day but the willow still looked nice.
the willow is a beautiful tree, you do not plant the willow will by the old belief in the yard, that the family will not be sad
Oh interesting. I don’t have a yard that is big enough for a willow
I did not know that aspirin could be produced from willows. An interesting conception
Me neither, I was surprised to read about it.
I love Willow Trees, you’ve done brilliantly in capturing this one! Awesome!
Thank you! I love willows too, especially sitting under them on hot summer days.
