Povlen, surrounded by surface and underground karst forms, is less fertile and less populated. This just allows the creation of landscapes according to the will of nature, and on the other hand the development of spirituality, through old monuments, skeletons and some of the famous monasteries – Celije, Lelić and Pustinja.

Taorska vrela are located in the territory of the city of Valjevo in Donji Taro, not far from the road to Makoviste. In this beautiful natural area, there were once 12 watermills, and now there are only a few. At a relatively short distance, numerous waterfalls and waterfalls were created. The hot springs flow into the river Skrapež, which is a spring below the Povlen mountain.

In the vast meadows of the Povlen Mountain, near Valjevo, huge stone balls are hidden about which unusual appearance, unknown origin and supernormal powers are still plagued today. The most controversy and speculation is related to the emergence of warped balls. The villagers like to believe that spheres are a miracle of nature that has healing and miraculous powers, or that they have been created by an alien creation, while scientists present some completely different claims.

According to experts, they are, therefore, caused by volcanic activity. Namely, in underwater tectonic disorders similar to those that shake today the area of Japan, 150 million years ago, when there was sea in the Povlen area, these stone spheres were created.
