Germany bans glyphosate

source

In a remarkable turnaround, the country of Germany has chosen to ban glyphosate, the main chemical in Roundup, a weed killer that is made by Monsanto.  This decision is major because Monsanto is now owned by Bayer.  The headquarters of Bayer are located in Germany.  Bayer is one of Germany’s biggest moneymakers, so the turn by German regulators against Bayer is astounding.

Glyphosate has been proven to cause cancer in people that use Roundup on a regular basis.  As of now, there are 18,400 lawsuits being litigated around the globe because the users of the herbicide contracted non-Hodgkins lymphoma due to spraying Roundup to kill weeds in their yards or in their fields.  More countries need to ban glyphosate so that Roundup can be taken off of store shelves worldwide.

  1. Thanks for sharing this, I have problems pulling out some weeds that have long strong roots in the ground and are very tough to get rid of.

Someone told me to use round up. For some reason I could not stomach using a weed killer.

Every instinct I had was right, round up is a carcinogen and should never be used.
