Cerioporus squamosus

Cerioporus squamosus.

It’s a kind of woody sponge.

I saw it just by chance on a tree close to my work.

It is spread in large parts of the world – in North America, Australia, Asia and Europe, where it is a common cause of decay of living or dead trees.

Connoisseurs claim that eat, but I would not bet!
