Cathedral

Polish

To the south, in the town of Wieliczka, there is a truly unique and amazing underground structure – Cathedral of the school. Cathedral, along with dozens of statues and three chapels, carved by miners who since the 13th century, until 2007, from the Wieliczka Salt Mine practiced table salt. Today a museum, this former salt mine is the result of work of several dozen generations of miners. Celebrated as a monument of Polish history, and all the people who live in it. The mine is an underground lake, as well as many statues that were carved by contemporary artists halite (rock salt).
