Calla Lilies (2014-06-26 13-47-31a)
The photo was taken at the Chicago Botanic Garden, Glencoe, Illinois.
I used a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera to take the photo and Luminar 2018 to edit it. I used the RAW Develop to boost the contrast, shadows and clarity and the Tone filter to lower the SmartTone. I used the Advanced Contrast filter to raise the contrast a little more in the highlights and midtones and the HSL filter to lower the luminance in the greens. I also applied the Accent-AI filter.

Colorful opening up of petals makes it all
Thanks. i appreciate it.
Lovely! I have been to that garden, but not recently.
It’s been almost 4 years since I’ve been there. I enjoy the place but, unless you go often enough to justify a membership, it’s expensive.
Gary, They really are expensive if you are not in the AHS-RAP. But they are in the American Horticultural Society’s Gardens Reciprocal Admission Program, meaning that members of the AHS or any of their member gardens can visit there and at any of about 300 other participating gardens for free. However, that may not apply to people who live close by as some have a mileage restriction. I pay only $20/year for my reciprocal membership.
Fantastic photo and contrast Gary. Love these lilies.
Thanks, Carol. I appreciate it.
I love that photo. Lilies are one of my favourite flowers.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
The bunches are beautiful, I had them two years ago in a pot on the terrace
We had some black ones once. They were very nice.
Deep photo equipment, nice weather and a quiet pose, the flower is beautiful.
Thank you very much, Robin.
