Former National Football League (NFL) quarterback Ryan Leaf who is a former quarterback whose career in the NFL was not exactly a bed of roses during his four seasons in the league due to his lack of success leading the teams that he played for into a playoff run has found a new way to make headlines for the right reasons by assisting a Tennessee family in need who were concerned around Christmas time that due to the U S government partial shutdown do to the political climate in Washington D. C. area, that they would not be able to pay the mortgage of their home in Gatlinburg Tennessee for the month of January 2019 since Taylor’s husband who is a Park Ranger at the Great Smoky National Park who is not able to receive his paycheck due to the shutdown that has no signs of ending anytime soon.
Ryan read the pleas for help from Taylor when she went on Twitter to plead her case for someone who could assist her to getting funds to pay for the mortgage of her home in January 2019.
The reason that Ryan decided to assist Taylor to pay the mortgage for her family was that Ryan’s grandfather was a former Park Ranger in Montana.
The funny thing is that Ryan is not well known outside of the National Football League by persons who do not follow the sport that gets coverage on the sports network on a daily basis.
Not to mention that when the name Ryan Leaf gets brought up by the sports channels, it is to lampoon Ryan for his meltdowns with sports reporters inside of locker rooms after football game due to the media asking Ryan why his performance during a football game was not as great as he would have wanted it to be with his team winning a football game.
It is evident that life after football in the NFL has changed Ryan to be a better person since if he does not have pressure put upon him to win games outside of the gridiron, then Ryan can do his part to assist people in need through his employment outside of pro football.
I am sure Ryan did not take the time to assist the Futch family since the breadwinner of the family cannot get paid by the Federal Government until the shutdown is resolved to gain new fans. Ryan did it because it was the right thing to do.
Maybe as a coach in the high school or college level.
Robert like myself is a native of Panama. However which city he was hatched in remains a mystery.
I don’t know much about what is happening there, but certainly, if someone loses his livelihood while the burden of life continues, it is very sad. For whatever reason, Ryan Leaf’s support for Taylor is very beneficial and positive for both, Taylor and Ryan Leaf himself.
I do not really know much about politics in America like my relatives do. What Ryan did was amazing since he is not what I know a very rich sports star who is known for doing good deeds for others since on the sports stations on television, Ryan was known for his temper tantrums in football locker rooms after football games where his team lost a game. It appears that Ryan has matured from a spoiled child to a honorable human being after he left the National Football League after three seasons.
Is there a possibility that Ryan can return to playing in the NFL?
Ryan is happy living a life outside of football at this time. He could not handle the pressure of being the savior of the San Diego Chargers in his rookie year.
So, it is likely that Ryan will not return to the field.
government shutdowns should be a last resort and an admission of failure, but plenty of administrations use them as a cheap ploy to further their agendas, year after year…
You are correct since I remember a former New Orleans talk show host saying when politicians fight, it means that they will working on a compromise on a sticking point, when they are bed together, we are all screwed.
Testify, brother! Can I get an amen?
