Let’s make this clear! We are not talking about making sure your child is getting enough time in front of the screen! You may be surprised by the numbers. First let’s talk about screen time.
-
If the television is on it’s screen time
-
If they are playing with a tablet it’s screen time
-
If they are playing with your cell phone, it’s screen time
Prepare yourself for the numbers. These are the numbers recommended by the Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) children ages 2 to 5 spend no more than an hour a day with screens of any kind – TV, tablet, phone, or computer. (The AAP recommends no screens at all for children younger than 18 months.) Watching one children’s movie would take up more time than is allotted.
Now that you know the numbers, how do you compare?
I am afraid that the adults in the future will have very poor eyesight.
No children here, so I don’t have anything to compare.
