Log of Life on the Boreal Life Trail

In Barnum Brook on the Boreal Life Trail at the Visitor Interpretive Center at Paul Smith’s College in the Adirondacks there was a log floating in the middle of the water. Here in the nutrient poor and acidic water the log was an island for some plants including some flowers and other marsh plants.
