IN MOROCCO Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou
is a fortified city on the caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakesh. Made from traditional bricks and fortified stone walls, this kasba lies on the border of the high Atlas mountains and the Sahara Desert. As a traditional village and an outstanding example of the architecture of southern Morocco, is on UNESCO’s list of world cultural heritage. Houses are generally harvested approximately square yard, while four of the wing with high towers at the corners make the citadel (Kazba). The lower level is used as a storeroom, while the upper living quarters. A unique feature of defensive Ait Ben Haddou the roof terrace houses that are connected (agadir or Ighrem) and served as the last bastion in case of siege.
That photo of houses is fascinating just like going on a time travel.
This is quite amazing I believe.
