Hoshizuna no Hama ( “starry sand beach”) is a small beach located at the northern tip of the remote island of Iriomote in Japan, which at first glance may seem very ordinary. But if you look closer you will see that the sand of this beach special. In fact, this sand, with almost every grain in the form of stars, can be found at only two locations on Earth (Irimote island and the island of Taketomi, Japan). These tiny star is actually not sand, but exoskeleton tiny unicellular organisms Baclogypsina sphaerulata, the diameter of which barely reaches 1 millimeter.
