A cab driver in Fargo North Dakota used the power of common sense to alert the Fargo Fire Department ten days ago when he witnessed a house fire outside of a home on Thursday overnight. When the Fargo Fire Department arrived at the scene of the home, they had one major problem which was that a fire hydrant that was buried in a pile of snow needed to cleared so that the water from the fire hydrant could be attached to the firetruck so that the full power of the water could be used to douse the fires quickly and effectively.
Thanks to the cab driver alerting the couple that was sleeping inside the burning home since it was around 1:45am, the couple were able to leave the home safe and sound.
There was one minor problem, the cats that belonged to the couple were inside the burning home.
Kenny Asplin who is a neighbor of the couple whose house was on fire, managed to get a shovel to remove the snow that buried the fire hydrant due to the heavy amount of snow that covered the city so that the firefighters could use the fire hydrant to use the full power of the water to their hoses to put out the fire.
The firefighters were able to rescue the cats that were trapped inside the home safe and sound. The cats were reunited with their owners.
The fire started in the garage and spread to the attic of the home. The cause of the fire is being investigated on what happened on that fateful evening in Fargo North Dakota.
I am not sure if the damage of the home in North Dakota is severe enough to keep the the couple and their cats away from their home for an indefinite period of time or not.
What is amazing is that a cab driver who happened to be at the right place at the right time as well as Kenny Asplin did their part to prevent a tragic event like a house fire that could have ended in tragedy in term of losses of life.
It makes me feel good news is great for me to report.
Thank goodness the cats also survived.
I agree with you on this matter.
It was really lucky that a taxi driver passed by and took quick action … that despite the accident ended without casualties
You are correct lado since if the cab driver did not warn the homeowners inside the home at the time, no telling if the fire would have caused some tragic news on television.
when it is that cold and snowy, fire shouldn’t be able to burn
That is what boggles my mind that a fire started in a snowy evening.
Many fires happen from the inside with heaters and furnaces during the winter.
yeah, back in the day they used to die from carbon minoxide poisoning
I did not know that since I have never lived in an extremely cold state.
