Welcome to another excellent blog on the great work that the Crown Point Firefighters did to rescue a dog that was stuck in an icy pond on Saturday morning in Indiana.
Crown Point Fire Rescue member Mark Baumgardner was contacted by a concerned citizen just after sunrise to report that a dog fell into an icy pond that needed to be rescued.
The Crown Point Fire Department then went into action to go the area where the dog was in danger of drowning in an icy pond. Firefighter Keith Boersma who was wearing protective gear to battle the cold conditions went into the icy pond to rescue the dog who only was glad to see the brave act of the firefighter but was moving toward the firefighter as a way of saying “I am willing to help you rescue me.”
After the dog was rescued from the icy pond, the dog was then taken to the Oak Hill Animal Clinic to be checked out if the dog was safe to be reunited with her master who more than happy to be reunited with his dog who goes by the name Chiquita which means “Small” in Spanish.
The owner of Chiquita was so grateful for the actions of the brave firefighters that they were given a pizza as a way of thanking them for rescuing his beloved pet.
This is a humane act. It does not matter if it is human or animal. All mythical beings.
That is correct since the firefighter did their duty to save lives without expecting a reward.
Always love the animal stories! Thanks.
My pleasure to share these good news stories on this site.
