Why This Blue Moon Is So Special

This particular BLUE MOON is real exciting stuff, for instance it’s only coming around again in 2028! The experts say the moon is best viewed by lovers on a first date after midnight tonight, (30th. January) sitting on a beach somewhere, listening to the rhythm of the waves and the beating of their young hearts. Seriously folks, this is a rare event!

But in case you miss it, and landed on this video some time later, may it re kindle, what might have been for you. Better still, grab the very next full moon after midnight anywhere and make it your own blue moon.

While on the subject, this is no double whammy, it’s more like a quadruple whammy as it will appear about 20% larger than normal and, it coincides with a full lunar eclipse and of course, it’s not going to be blue at all but rather the color of a well matured yellow cheddar cheese!

Some say, the name is derived from the extreme rarity of this exact event, hence calling other rare things, as only coming along, once in a blue moon. However, referring to it as a blue moon, is not entirely based on fact, since in the presence of certain atmospheric conditions, like the smoke and gas released from active volcanoes, have frequently cast this incredible celestial body in a distinctly blue hue.

I have rushed through typing the post and compiling the short video – Blue Moon below containing some more Blue Moon facts, especially to coincide with this incredibly exciting event tomorrow, 31 January 2018. Remember, you don’t have to rush of and buy a pair of eclipse glasses, since this is a Lunar eclipse and not a solar eclipse. You might however grab a pack of marshmallows for toasting on a warm campfire, as you witness this incredibly romantic spectacle.
