BEACH VOLLEYBALL WITH GREEN, HAWAII
Papakolea, also known as the Beach with green sand or Mahana Beach, is located close to South Point on the island of Ka’u, Hawaii. She is one of only four beaches with green sand in the world, and the other three are (1) and Norway (2) in the Galapagos. Color olive green sand comes from the presence of greenish semi-precious stone called olivine, which is to the beach came from Pu’u Mahane, 49,000 year old volcano nearby. Olivine is denser and heavier than other sand crystals, which are deposited on the beach while the usual volcanic sand sea ‘sapere’. The constant erosion of the volcano provides a steady supply of green sand in the foreseeable future.
