1126 West Bryn Mawr Avenue, Chicago, Illinois (2014-07-21 13-02-51a
The building at 1126 We n the parapet as ‘E Kenner Ingel’. I was not able to find any information on her.
I don’t know what its original purpose was but, when I moved to the area in the late 1970s, it was the China Star Restaurant. You can see the remains of their sinage on the light blue panel over the windows. I ate there a few times and the food was not bad. There are some other China Star restaurants in Chicagoland but I don’t know if they are in any way connected to this one. After the restaurant closed it became the Foot and Ankle Clinic. They moved out a few years later and the building has been empty ever since. The hanging sign and the lettering on the window are still there today (September 2018).
The photo was taken with a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera and edited with Luminar 2018. I used the RAW Develop filter to lower the exposure slightly, raise the contrast, shadows and clarity and lower the highlights and whites. I used the Tone filter to lower the SmartTone and added the Accent-AI, Structure and Polarizing filters.

Nice tones in the old building, great job Gary.
Thanks, Carol. I’m glad you liked it.
It looks like a nice building and can be functional. Is it?
I would think so. It was in use up to about four years ago.
That’s nice to hear. The new generations can still see it
