I like to walk through the alleys in Chicago because you can find some interesting stuff to photograph. Doing so one day I came across this garage door in Rogers Park, specifically in the alley behind 6540 North Greenview. (Chicago is divided into 77 neighborhoods. I live in Edgewater but, if I cross the street, I’m in Rogers Park.)
Anyway, I took a couple of photos of it and sat on them for a while, not exactly sure what I should do with them. One was a “documentary” photo, just showing a typical garage in this area. I’m guessing this was built sometime between 1900 and 1920. It may have housed a horse and carriage before being used for a car.
The other two photos just focused on a part of the door. The second one looked at the wood and the third at a hinge on the door. They were really boring so I decided to mess around with them.

Garage Door (2014-07-05 09-22-58a)
This shot gives you an idea of what a typical Chicago garage looks like.
The photo was taken using a Nikon Coolpix P7700 camera. I used ACDSee Ultimate 2018 to crop a bit off the top, adjust the lighting, boost the contrast, saturation and clarity and sharpen a bit.
