Welcome Your Marine Home

For those that know, have, or are someone serving in the United States Marine Corps, you know that the time away from them is a hard thing to bear. There are a lot of families that don’t get to see their loved ones for months, or even years, at a time, but they know that the separation is needed in order to do their jobs. After being gone for so long, it may be a little difficult for your loved one to get back into the swing of things. As someone that cares about them, it should be your duty to make sure that they’re re-adjusting to their lives before they decided to join the Marines. There are a lot of things that can help Marines readapt to living at home life rather than a life overseas. Show your appreciation for their service. Buy them a US Marine Corps license plate frame. Figure out what it’ll take to make their transition as simple as possible.

They’ve Lived a Different Life

Being overseas and living in a different country for an extended period of time can take its toll on the strongest person. You begin to adjust to their lifestyle and come to the realization that your family isn’t just a phone call or a short drive away. The people that surround you end up becoming your new family because your actual family is so far away. Marines that spend time away from home like this have a hard time going back to the life they once lived because its now foreign to them. Do little things to remind them of what their lives used to be such as family gatherings or taking them out to their once favorite places.

Remind Them Who They Are

Being in the military changes you. You look at things differently and evaluate your life on a different level. It can be challenging to remember who you were, especially if you were gone for years. Life changes fast. Your two-year-old who could barely talk before you left is now five or six and in school. It’s your job as their family to remind them of who they are so they’re not stuck in the Marine mentality for the rest of their lives. It’s okay for them to remember their time, but it shouldn’t consume their livelihood.

Buying a US Marine Corps license plate frame for someone that has served reminds them of who they were and what they did for their country. It’s important to find a balance and easy transition back from that life for your loved one. Help them readjust to the place they call home.

  1. You know, it’s not the same for every marine. Know your family. If I had done this he wouldn’t have ever come back in our home.

Great advice if you know their mental and emotional health.
