I really admire the actions of Stafford High School senior Tristan McAlister who made news on the social media sites recently when he went the extra mile to purchase a pair of Air Jordan sneakers for the school janitor Angel Echevarria recently.
The basis of their friendship is built on the common ground that both of them like the Air Jordan brand of sneakers which are very expensive to purchase in the sneaker stores around the world due to the high value of the former National Basketball Association superstar Michael J. Jordan who is not to be confused with actor of Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Fantastic Four and Creed) fame.
Echevarria could not afford to buy the Air Jordan sneakers. Tristan who is a very kind young man who has a passion for doing great deeds for someone in need saw his opportunity to strengthen the friendship with Angel by presenting him with a pair of Air Jordan 8 sneakers as a gift.
At the urging of Tristan’s mother, Tristan recorded the reaction of Angel when he presented him with his new Air Jordan 8 sneakers. The reaction of Angel receiving his Air Jordan 8 sneakers is priceless.
Thanks to the exposure of Tristan’s good deed, his actions have gained him many new followers on the social media networks.
The best way to become friends with someone else is to find common ground and then do your best to assist them when they need a favor.
The principal at Stafford High School in Fredericksburg Virginia is very proud of the great deeds of kindness and positive energy that Tristan brings to school every day.
I do remember that the Egyptians did their possessions to the grave.
This culture stresses the importance of possessions over personal improvement
It is a shame that the slogan “The one who has the most toys wins.”
It should be “Whoever dies with the most toys is still dead”
You are correct on that point since we do not take your possessions to the afterlife.
Egyptians to the contrary…
Great inspirational story, and it is a shame some shoes are so expensive.
It is because the people are willing to buy expensive sneakers from their favorite sport stars.
I don’t understand spending so much on shoes
That is what I am thinking on why one person will fork over their hard earned money just to have sneakers worn by Michael J. Jordan. I am just happy to have a pair of average sneakers.
Seriously. If you think shoes are going to solve your problems, you have a much larger problem than you realize…
That is true. I remember an ad that read “It has to be the shoes.” Really?
A very friendly gesture … there are few such people today
Tristan seems to have been raised by great parents who have taught to be kind to others.
nice and interesting post!!!
It is an interesting story since a lot of teens today who have positions of power or wealth look down at poorer people like Flash Thompson is to Peter Parker in the Spider-Man universe. Tristan seems to be a God fearing teen.
That’s Great To Hear.. Waoo Nice 🙂
My pleasure since I am working on judging all teens as bad kids who step on poor folk.
