No, I don’t get to go visit my neighbors and watch our weekly movie and have a chat. No, I don’t get to hop in the car and run to the store to grab a few items and chat with neighbors. No, I don’t get to go to physical therapy right now because there are others with greater needs. So how does one fill up all that time with healthy and happy activities?
Perhaps for some, the answer may be places like this where ideas can be shared. That only works if everyone plays by the same rules and is respectful. That can sometimes be a challenge. There is also a concern about misinformation being tossed about. What is true in some areas may not be true in all areas.
Personal responsibility can help or hinder the work of all. I remember my Mom asking are you a part of the problem or a part of the solution? I think it is a question that is worth asking every day and before hitting publish on every post.
The world has changed. If we don’t take care of each other many will be lost. If there is no place for civil discourse no learning can happen. It’s a global problem that will need to be solved by individual actions. Now more than ever it is important to respect differences and work together.
