I drove to South Coast Plaza at 9:30 am so that I would browse around at the event before the first seminar. I decided to do two videos using my Pictar iPhone accessory, and not attend the 10 am seminar about the walking tour to check out the different palm trees around the mall. I have been on this walking tour before, and it is kind of slow, although the trees and other tropical plants look nice.
At 11 am, I entered the William Sonoma store to check out the Spiralizer seminar. I have a spiralizer from Bed Bath & Beyond, and I am looking for new ideas and tips. I tasted some samples, which included cooked corn with spices and spiralized zucchini and squash. Raw versions would be tasty, too. At 11:30 am, I checked out a seminar on firescraping, which is about ways to protect one’s home from wildfires. I picked up some brochures, in which I plan to blog about for educational purposes.
By noon, I ate a vegetarian sandwich that I brought with me from home. Then, I went to seminar about growing orchids. I also checked out a seminar bout growing summer veggies, which include tomatoes, peppers, squash, pumpkin, and cucumbers. At 3 pm, I decided to check out a cooking seminar, where Chef Amar Santana demonstrated three recipes and gave out samples. I plan to do the falafel and hummus recipes. I also sampled a cup of mango peach green tea, in which I noticed I have had this brand before, maybe a holiday gift. They were good. Then, I checked out a seminar on container gardens. I decided to go home at 5 pm because I didn’t feel like going to the rainwater harvesting seminar.
I will write a more detailed post on each seminar later.
Today, I ran into two familiar women, one I know from photo meetup, and the other one is just familiar from an art gallery reception I always attend.
One of the three recipes at the cooking demo…
But I liked the falafel and hummus recipes…
