Since I am on some sort of a diet, I decided to try chia seeds. I have read that they are very good for our health. Just this morning I bough yoghurt with chia seeds and that is all I had for breakfast. I must say that I do not feel hungry at all. I am avoiding white bread, pizza, spaghette, fried food, fast food and I feel much better. My belly is starting to dissapear. The only thing I didn’t give up is chocolate. And I am eating dark chocolate. So, let me tell you something about chia seeds.
Chia Seeds (Salvia Hispanica) are an ancient food that was once used among the Aztec warriors during the journey. Then it was said that one spoon these seeds, a warrior can keep up to 24 hours. Imagine that! They have an excellent nutritional value and are one of the few foods that provide complete proteins. In addition to this, they are rich in antioxidant, omega 3 fatty acids, alpha linolenic acid, soluble and insoluble fibers, minerals such as calcium, potassium, phosphorus, copper, iron, manganese, magnesium and zinc as well as vitamin B groups, niacin, riboflavin and thiamine.
One of the special properties of chia seeds is their ability to absorb water and turn into a gel that can be mixed with food without affecting the taste, making it a great choice for weight loss programs.
To make chia seeds Gel, mix 1/4 cup of seeds with 2/4 cups of filtered water. Mix well, wait a few minutes and mix again. Then let it stand for 5 to 10 minutes until the gel is formed. Stir again and add half the portion of the gel from the seeds to half the portion of the meal. Chia seeds gel in the refrigerator can stand for up to 2 weeks. You can add it to flakes, ketchup, mustard, salad or grill, jams, jams, dairy products and other similar foods. The gel can also be used to reduce the use of oil for preparing home-made bread for as much as a third. This reduces calorie intake and increases fiber intake. This gel contains a high water content and promotes total hydration of the body while simultaneously maintaining electrolyte balance in the body.
I have a pack but I never knew what to make with them, thanks for the ideas.
I always add them to my oatmeal.
