Okay, really Grandpa. So he had them jammin’ to tunes from youtube on the television and now they want to know what the lyrics mean. I am good with the burning flags and we all understand the shoot them dead part. It’s the other stuff I have no answer for and they are not giving up.
Are they singing in a different language or just making up words? Am I the grandparent that doesn’t know the words? Translation anyone?
I get talkin’ bout
but
Talk-in’ ’bout, Hey now ! Hey now ! I-KO, I-KO, un-dayJock-a-mo fee-no ai na-né, jock-a-mo fee na-né
Help!
I never heard this song. But I like it.
I first heard the song in the mid 1980s done by the Belle Stars. I thought :Iko Iko” was a phrase from an African dialect, but I never really checked it out. It’s a great song, hard to sit still…
