Lucha Underground

Oh my god! I am slowly falling in love with Lucha Underground. I have been watching highlights of it this past weekend on YouTube, and I already have my favorites. Some of my favorite wrestlers on the show are Aero Star; Black Lotus; Joey Ryan; Pentagon Dark; PJ Black; Ivelisse; Taya Valkyrie; and Johnny Muno also known as John Morrison, which is a name he used while wrestling with World Wrestling Entertainment. For those that are not familiar with what lucha libre style wrestling is; it is different from professional wrestling promotions in the United States, and Europe.

A popular part of lucha libre persona is his or her mascara, or lucha libre mask. The masks helps a fighter stay anonymous in a country enthralled by the sport of Mexican wrestling. The career starts as masked wrestlers.

Lucha Underground is not my introduction to lucha libre style of wrestling; I have seen it on other promotions, such as the World Wrestling Federation, and World Championship Wrestling, which was a wrestling promotion purchased by the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment Inc in 2001, but it is known now as World Wrestling Entertainment.

What makes Lucha Underground so unique to me is its story lines; and the lucha wrestlers are the dominant wrestlers on the show; compared to World Wrestling Entertainment where there are very few lucha wrestlers. There are also few unmasked wrestlers on Lucha Underground; compared to World Wrestling Entertainment where it is dominantly unmask wrestlers.
