This story is kind of odd since Dawn Muhammad whose blood type is a good match for her to donate one of her kidneys to her ailing dad Lucious Daniels who is currently suffering from stage four failure which has him undergoing a kidney dialysis twice a week.
The catch is when Dawn first took the step to donate one of her kidneys to donate to her dad, her body mass index was not the right type so she could donate her kidney to her father as a way of saying “Thank you” for raising her the right way in life was to lose 70 pounds.
In December 2016, Dawn hired a personal trainer to assist her lose 70 pounds so she could be eligible to donate one of her kidneys to her father.
The challenge to lose 70 pounds took a period of 16 months. By the time Dawn with the assistance of her personal trainer had shed the excess pounds, she found out that is eligible to have surgery to remove of her kidneys and donate it to her father.
I can imagine her family members being happy to hear the good news when Dawn told them she would volunteer to donate of her kidneys to her dad.
The surgery will take place in a hospital in Atlanta Georgia on August 31, 2018. My thoughts and prayers that the surgery will be a successful on both Dawn and Lucious.
Imagine having to lose weight to donate an organ
It is a very huge challenge for Dawn to shed 70 pounds in 16 months.
right, that’s really above and beyond. on the other hand, she lost 70 pounds and that’s a good thing
Losing weight helps a person be more active in life without the major pains of the body.
yeah, it is the way to go
In some countries, this is very difficult. People do not perceive donation. Let’s hope the operation is successful.
I hope so too since it will give Dawn’s dad more time to live.
My wife did not have this happiness.
They got her kidney.
In my country there are very few donors of human organs.
I am sorry to learn about that tragedy.
