This Youtuber loved the 2019 movie Cats. (I have that camera lens cup with lid on his desk. I wonder if that is a weird coincidence). This video narrates an interesting history of Cats, from the conceptual idea of the poem to the 2019 movie. Cats movie is a whimsical, surrealistic fantasy story. I agree that it was similar style to Wizard of Oz and Nutcracker, as well as Alice in Wonderland.
I have seen the Rocky Horror Picture Show in college. It was interesting and interactive.
